We're off!

I've hardly mentioned it to anyone, and planning it has sort of fallen by the wayside in favor of wedding planning, but some girls and I are taking a trip to Wyoming to see Steph! We leave tomorrow and will be gone for 5 days. Then the night I get back my aunt Lynda is hosting a shower for me. It will be a busy, crazy week!

THE spot

Right on the end of that dock, that's where we got engaged.

It's not my parents lake, but at the guys lake house.

Success!

We had gone to David's Bridal earlier this week, and I found a dress that I really liked. However, I didn't like the price so much, so I passed in hopes that I'd find something that cost a little less moolah.

This morning, Mom, Joce, Haas and I went to Brides of France, the Richfield location. I would definitely recommend the shop to anyone- great customer service and beautiful gowns in a good price range. I believe my aunt Jan and cousin Gwen even got their dresses there (?).

I tried on about 5 dresses, and I liked most of them, didn't just LOVE any of them. Then the lady had me try on the same one that I liked at David's Bridal. They just happened to have that dress in my size, in ivory (which I liked previously). I liked it just as much as before, and the price was better, and it was already hemmed to the correct length, and had a bustle. How could I not get it? So I did. It's a fit 'n' flare (mermaid) style, with a design on the chest, then plain down the front. The back is my favorite- it has a big ruffle all the way down the back. If anyone is really curious, it is T9938 on the David's Bridal website, but in ivory.

I am so relieved to have found a dress, and one I love that's not too expensive. Now I can nail down the rest of the smaller details of the wedding. One I want to share is that Jennifer Skoog is taking my pictures- yay!! We've worked together on a few weddings, and so it's fitting that she will be taking our photographs.

For some reason, the card reader isn't working, so I can't put any pictures on my blog of Mark and I the night we got engaged. Since then, my mind has been working in overdrive; wedding plans, honeymoon plan, North Dakota plan...

Yeup, I'm moving to ND. Mark's job is to find us a place to live out there. I'm excited to move! Lots of things to get done first though, packing being the least of them.

I feel like most of the wedding details are gelling in my head, now to carry them out. First of all, I need a dress. Finding one stresses me out most of all. I've been tossing around the idea of wearing my mom's, but it would need a lot of work to make it fit the way I want it to. We'll see.... We are headed out tomorrow (and if needed, Saturday) to search for the perfect vintage romance dress with a modern fit :)
