Delayed departure

Kayla had to have surgery on her wrist, and has to stay for a few weeks for check ups, etc. That leaves me to squish with Coralie and Jill leaving for AZ on Labor Day, or figure something else out. I'd like to get down there ASAP, but don't want to leave Kayla without a rider.

That's what I had on my face yesterday as I wakeboarded on the canal.

Mark and Cor took Mark and I out on Kivisto's boat (it can get confusing and comical with all the Marks up here. I'm also staying at Marcus & Annika's house).

It was a blast! I forgot how much fun wakeboarding is, since I haven't done it at all this summer, and I didn't snowboard last winter either. The others kept teasing me about the smile I had on my face during my ride, but I couldn't stop. I was loving it.

Mark also had a good time. He had never gone before, and he got up right away and was jumping all over the place. Coralie and the other Mark are pretty much pros, so it was fun to watch their skills.

< 2 weeks

'til the big move.

Mark helped me move all the large furniture from my apartment to my parents house. I think my dad was very, very glad to give that (almost) once yearly job to someone else. I have to say, it went a lot smoother and was slightly more fun with the boyfriend. :)

Now I have just the little things left, like my clothes. Actually, that's not little. I have A LOT of clothes. Way too many (don't tell my mom that). Gotta get rid of some...

Three more days of work, a trip to Michigan, a trip to Menahga, and I'm off.

Twins at Target Field

Kayla and I got tickets way back in March, and our game day had finally arrived. It seemed like it would be a good game, since the Twins had won the previous two versus the White Sox. Unfortunately, it was a blowout in the wrong direction. The number of hits says it all; Sox 20, Twins 5 (or something like that). We couldn't hardly get a runner to first, and the final score ended up 11-0.

Luckily, just being at the awesome new field was almost exciting enough to cover for the Twins poor playing.

I decided my next job should be a hose-holder. Easy!

My favorite part of the game was sitting near the organ player, and watching her. She never had to look at her fingers, just watched the game while getting the crowd all riled up. I like the fact that the new field still has an organ. It puts an old-time feel in the atmosphere.

I'm all kinds of excited to go to another game. It probably won't be until next season, but I'm so glad I got to see it at least once during this one.
