Cowtown vs the Cities

in a single guys baseball game. It was a cold and windy Saturday, but there were lots of fans. I was cheering for the small-town team, though I did have a brother on the other team too. Mark cheered for the "bangers".

Some of the fans, all bundled up.

And more, all cities fans.

Vivian made it too, and was good at yelling "Goooo Turt!"

She also made friends with Todd T, in order to help herself to his candy.

Here's David batting, with Kurt catching and Carl A umping.

I was thinking it would be a blowout for the cities, seeing as how they had more players that had been in organized baseball, as well as the help of a grand slam. However, my team won 6-5!

It is so much fun to watch and play in games like this, when you know everyone.

CC 2010

Jill and girls hosted a going-away supper for Jonas from Sweden. Everyone was energetic, and we had lots of fun.

Later in the evening, we sang songs. For some reason, we don't do that very often with this group, and it was awesome. Made me remember how blessed I am to have all these friends in faith.

Kids, Kids, Kyds

My brother Shane and his wife Brittany, and their baby Mya, came up for a visit. Bro Darren and his gfriend came along too. It was nice to have almost the whole family together. And lots of people showed up for their wedding reception. Shane seemed really touched that so many people were there.
Viv and Mya met for the first time. Mya kept reaching for Viv, and when we put them on the floor together, she would steal Viv's pacifier.
Viv was sick, poor thing. Totally not her usual smiley self at all. If you look closely at this picture, she has a tear in her eye. :(
Adria and Daylen came to our apt so Cor could babysit. No high chair, no problem. Probably one of the only times we've ever used our phonebook...
Another hot Sunday afternoon spent at the lake. We sure enjoyed the last days of summer.

Farewell to the Dome

My last game at the Metrodome. :(
It was an awesome game though! The Twins were down 0-3 to the Indians, then scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to win.
This is the girls and Neil cheering after a Twins homerun.
We were all sad to leave. Except Maria, she could care less, coming from MI and all...

CKydsWeekend

is here again. Wow, the year flew by!
Hopefully lots of people here this weekend. I get to completely enjoy it this year, since Kayla is doing all the planning. She is impressive. Not even stressed. When it was me, I was a mess.
Anyway, I'm off work now, so here's to a fun weekend!

Beat the record.

There were approximately 71 people at volleyball tonight. If you were unlucky enough to lose a game, you sat for three games. It's a good kind of bad. Good, because it means we have a lot of friends in faith to hang out with. Bad, because less playing time.

All out of love, so lost without you...

The girls house hosted an 80's themed party for July birthdays (of which there were 6). It was a blast to see how people dressed up! And most did too. It makes a party so much more fun when everyone gets into it. Take a look-

Apt 109: we went for the off-the-shoulder style...

Some of the guys, just lovin' up the jorts (jean shorts). Why don't they still dress like this?

Whew!! Check out these babes...

After everyone arrived, we all went to Target to show off the outfits (only in the cities...). What a fun night!!

Titanica

Last night, 30 or so of us went to the OmniTheater to see the film Titanica. I had high expectations, but it wasn't very good. It needed more story and less underwater filming. I mean, it was interesting too, but probably not worth the money (and I forgot to get my student discount).

It is nice to do something different sometimes though. We always play sports, and not everyone likes sports.

50 people!

There were over 50 people at sand volleyball last night. That makes for 7 teams of 7. The problem is, we only have 2 courts. You end up sitting a lot unless you have a good enough team to hold the winners court (we did for 5 games or so :). We always go to Wendy's afterward, and usually play some reddot there, which I really enjoy. Tuesday night is my favorite night of the week!

Isn't he cute? He was cuddling with his stuffed animals on the couch.

4 July

Plymouth fireworks to music. I'm proud to say they can't compare to the ones in PR.

Hanging out at the R cabin. These kids were sunburned and exhausted from a busy day.

Baby Viv. She was making the cutest faces. This is her 'don't even think about taking away my plug' one. :)
It was a fun weekend, complete with waterskiing, bowling, fireworks, family, friends, canoeing, sauna/swim, and napping in the hammock.

On the boat

Our boat. We started with 1 guy and 7 girls, then added one more guy.
The 4 boats tied together (we weren't supposed to do that).

Lake Minnetonka

Yesterday we went out on a pontoon on Lake Minnetonka for 5 hours. Craig H planned it, and we did it last year as well. There were 4 boats, and 39 people.

It was nice to be out on the water, and doing something different for a change. We motored out, jumping the waves (it was windy!) to the calm side of the Big Island, where we anchored and tethered the boats together. Then ensued jumping in, being pushed in, eating, relaxing, chatting, tossing balls around... until then the sheriff arrived. He gave one of the boats a warning for not having enough life jackets (whoops!). At least it wasn't a ticket!

Five hours sounds like a long time, but it went by quickly. By the end, we were all sunburned and exhausted, and ready to be back on solid ground that doesn't shift under you.
Somehow, I even managed to play some volleyball that evening too. And then went to bed late...

I'm so tired.
Pics to follow sometime soonish. Maybe after my nap.

My Fav.

I love love love sand volleyball. Yesterday we played for quite awhile; all 4 teams were pretty equally matched, which made it especially fun. The weather was perfect too, sunny with a bit of breeze... Afterwards, we headed to the girls house for a cookout, bags tourney, some fat bat and red dot, and a fire with ghost stories. It's so fun to hang out outside all day!

It looks like Jill's in charge of the grill in this one :)
